LIFE'S A BEACH COLLAGE MIXED MEDIA

Here's a canvas board that I have altered with the title "Life's A Beach." It measures
8x10 without the wire & bead hanger. I painted the canvas with blue acrylic paint,
then used some white with stamps and other "stuff" for textures. The three tags were
prepared seperately and then attached. That's real beach sand, glass, shells and a piece
of wood I picked up at the beach! The tin star is distressed and glued on to represent the
star fish! This was fun to do, and I plan on sending it to Cloth, Paper and Scissors to see
if they will publish it. I haven't done this before and am a little anxious, but we shall
see. Hope you like it and that it will bring back good memories. Happy day to you.

Altered Pink Tin Heart

I finally finished this tin heart that I've been working on for awhile. I completely altered
it with paper, paint, glitter, ribbons, beads, button etc. The small round doiley is glued to the
front, as well as the two flowers. A couple of rhinestones were added to the flowers.
I had it hanging around before I decided what I would do to make it "cottagey"! and I like how it turned out. The bow is some white net with pink ricrac I sewed to some lace. It will be on etsy soon!
Smiles and Blessings to you all!

Three altered bottle snowmen

The idea for altered bottle snowmen was published in an issue of Cloth, Paper Scissors.
I dug around and found these bottles I thought would work and got busy! I had a lot
of fun! I used some of their suggestions and came up with some of my own, or improvised.
I found some "junk" stuff in a drawer and adapted to the snowmen. You can see the
thimbles, bells, beads and even an old key. It took me awhile to get some decent pics
to add to my blog and am thinking of sending them to the mags website to show what
I did with the idea. I have used small jars and some styrofoam balls to make snowmen.
Some the lid came off so you could tuck in some small surprise! I will post a pic of
one as soon as I can, and will give the instructions. Happy crafting to you all!

More Comfort Dolls

Here are more comfort dolls I made! I decided to make one dozen before sending them
to Pat. This should be fun to see the different personalities emerging. Need to make
more faces or maybe some won't have a drawn face...just a little something to suggest
the face, we'll see what happens! You just never know in the field of art. Imagination,
creativity and supplies! all play a part. Anyway, enjoy these while I go off to make some
more!!! Love, peace, smiles and Blessings to all.

BIRTHDAY PARTY

Yesterday was spent at our Princess's 2nd birthday party. The theme was a Garden party.
Her little dress was made by Grammie and bg said it had flowers all over it. She was such
a doll. She is adorable! You can see the Bunny cake that Mommie made and everyone
enjoyed! There were cookie flower lollipops for party favors. The food was cooked by
Pop Pop on the grill and accompaniments by other family members. She opened her many
lovely presents, and proceeded to carry around two dolls and a poodle puppy, wearing her
fabulous sun glasses, which she wore the rest of the day! Glam girl...Everyone had a wonderful
time. We enjoyed visiting with each other and playing with the little ones. I am so blessed
to have such a great family.

Valentine Swap Etsy Cottage Style

This is what I received from my swap partner! Just look at all
the neat stuff! That is a flower pot turned upside down...you put potpourri in the top, which is the saucer.
A little heart shaped box, I think Judy made this too, with a cute teddy bear and a charm that reads "be mine."
There were some goodies in the box for altering or scrapping. A key ring, a beaded heart pin, cookies, chhocolate
and a candle stand with heart and sweet sentiment. I just love, love, love it all. Thanks so much, Judy.
For those of you who want to see all the swaps, take a look at Etsy Cottage Style, my page. Swaps are so much fun.
The anticipation is too much......

This book of Scarves was a find in the library's book sale!
I thought it was so unusual and the art work unique.
This will be for sale in my etsy shop soon.
