Bottlecap Bracelets
Am finally getting around to posting some of my bottlecap jewelry on my blog and thus to my etsy shop. My bracelets are strung glass beads of various colors with added bottlecaps. Each bottlecap has punched papers of a floral design I created. They are covered with a glaze for protection and longevity. A bead is added to each center for some more glitz! These are really pretty! I know it's hard to believe when you know they are bottlecaps! I used caps from different soda flavors and all are brightly colored. I do not use any beer or alcoholic beverage caps in my jewelry.
I am starting out with these two, and will add more as I get them made!

My First ATC's
Each person in the swap makes two cards. The size of the cards is the same as a card from a regular playing deck. The only instructions for these were, vintage, pink, and cottage, and were to be mailed by Oct. 15th. Mine are made from canvas used for acrylic paints. I cut them to the size, painted them pink and then did all the creating! I chose two different female pics that I had on hand and then embellished both of them. They are signed and numbered on the back. I also made a paper pocket using a copy of an old post card and some pink cardstock. I put the two cards in the pocket and packaged them for mailing, and sent them on their way. I hope she likes my first attempt at ATC's! I can't wait to get mine! Smiles.

Saturday
Happy Saturday to you all. It's a great day. Sun is shinning after a little rain shower this morning. I am doing the usual chores today...crafting in between! Waiting for paint and glue to dry before I finish up some projects. I am in on an ATC swap on etsy cottage style. ATC is artists trading card. These are the size of a card from a regular deck of cards. This swap is vintage/pink/cottage. Mine are definitely pink. They are to be in the mail by Oct 15, so I will put up pics then. I am excited to be in this..it is my first swap. Am also in on a Santa Scavanger! This will present a challenge. There are still so many things I don't know about how all the blogs etc. work. I am still reading trying to understand how this all works.
Got some help last week end from grandson (married to my granddaughter)..technically I guess he's my in-law?! He knows all about how computers work, as does just about everyone else, but me!!!! lol
I hope you all have a great weekend. Gotta get back to my fun stuff!

Hand painted roses
This clear glass tray and perfume bottle have been hand painted with pink roses by me. They are also painted on the back of the bottle and the stopper. They did not come as a set, but am selling them together. The pics aren't the greatest they don't do the painting justice. I am using an aim and shoot Kodak camera! So I take a lot of pics and hope for a couple good ones. Some day I'll be looking for a better camera! Yeaaaah!Tuesday, October 7, 2008
Childrens Dresses mixed media
Here's a small, 5x7, canvas board that I have altered with paints, gesso, papers, crackle, and buttons.
I drilled holes and attached a wire hanger that I wrapped with other wire and fiber plus beads.
Then added a bow! This would look so cute in a girls room or a sewing room.

Weekend
Just a quick post tonight. Hope you all had a great weekend. I left work on Friday and went to spend a couple of days with my grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A fun time was had by all. No pics however! We had a cookout on Saturday evening. Seems like I always eat more than I should! Managed to get to BAM and found four new Somerset Studio mags. They are so inspiring and the artists in these are fabulous. They are the greatest. We had some much needed rain this afternoon. Things were starting to look a little "droopy".
