September Labor Day

Labor Day is celebrated in both the United States and Canada on the first Monday of September. It's a national holiday, so most of us have the day off. Maybe we'll rest, but my guess is that most of us will do some labor during the day! It could be real labor, as digging ditches or fun labor such as creative! Lots of fun works of art! I hope you enjoy your day, whether you rest or laabor. My day will be spent with fun labor. Where did the summer go? What happened to August? It's already September and the beginning of Fall. Here in Central Florida we don't have much of a Fall...It comes and goes very quickly! We mostly have summer, and then a little winter. Before long it will be Spring again! Phew! Where did all that go?

Warmth for Warriors Washcloths and Hats

I found this website earlier this summer and decided to take part in making and sending washcloths to our service men and women. The washcloths are made from 100% cotton and I crochetted mine, but they can also be knit. You can find patterns all over the internet, or some of the yarns have a pattern on the inside of the yarn label. That is where I have gotten several of mine. These are easy and simple and quick! It's fun to complete the washcloth in about an hour! or if you are really fast, maybe less! Have a go at it and one of our troops will be so appreciative! I was crochetting just for fun and decided to crochet for a cause! It does a person good to know he is helping someone! Peace and Blessings, All bloggers, Nancy

This day in 1776 the colonies declared their Independence from the
Mother Country, England.  Hard work and determination on the part of our forefathers brought about long sought after Independence.  Their knowledge and foresight have long been the
basis for this great country, the United States of America.  We live each day in peace and freedom and well being.  There are many countries in the world who do not have this, or even one of these in their every day lives.  We must continue to guard our country and be thankful we have guardians who keep us in peace and freedom.
