Warmth for Warriors Washcloths and Hats

I found this website earlier this summer and decided to take part in making and sending washcloths to our service men and women. The washcloths are made from 100% cotton and I crochetted mine, but they can also be knit. You can find patterns all over the internet, or some of the yarns have a pattern on the inside of the yarn label. That is where I have gotten several of mine. These are easy and simple and quick! It's fun to complete the washcloth in about an hour! or if you are really fast, maybe less! Have a go at it and one of our troops will be so appreciative! I was crochetting just for fun and decided to crochet for a cause! It does a person good to know he is helping someone! Peace and Blessings, All bloggers, Nancy

JULY 4TH!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

This day in 1776 the colonies declared their Independence from the
Mother Country, England.  Hard work and determination on the part of our forefathers brought about long sought after Independence.  Their knowledge and foresight have long been the
basis for this great country, the United States of America.  We live each day in peace and freedom and well being.  There are many countries in the world who do not have this, or even one of these in their every day lives.  We must continue to guard our country and be thankful we have guardians who keep us in peace and freedom.
Thank you to all our dedicated warriors both past and present.

Unexpected thrift store stop

I was a little early for my salon appointment yesterday and there just happens to be a little thrift store a few steps away...so decided to pop in!  Will show you a few things that will appear in my etsy a little later.
 This first one is a "Cabbage Patch Kids"...I think nightie.  It is pink with lace around neck, sleeves and bottom.  It also has a strip of lace down the front. 
 This is a little white skirt or petticoat that could be for Barbie or doll a little larger. Lace around hem.
 A cute little pinafore apron with a blue and green trim.  This is kinda like the one Raggedy Ann wears.  Hers doesn't have the trim.
 Little white dress, petticoat or nightie.  Label inside "Made in China" and the lace is pink.  This would fit a small baby doll it measures about 8" overall.
This is a handmade skirt or half-slip.  It has a piece of elastic in the waist and measures 7" long.  It has been made from a wide pice of fabric with trim at the bottom.  I have left all of these alone with no washing etc...so they come as is.  A few stains, but nothing major.  I believe will come clean.

Bangle Bracelets made from empty tape rolls

 
 
 

Some examples of my latest.  These are bracelets I made from empty tape rolls.
The flowers are made from torn fabric and ribbon, with added bead embellishments.
These are fun and easy to make.

When it rains....it pours....

As you all know the South has been in a drought.  My yard is like a sand pile!
Well, finally started raining yesterday, and I had a down pour at my house.
The front yard looked like a lake, and I had no boat! lol
Inside the house, I had no water!  I didn't want rain water, I just wanted
water to come out of the spigot when I turned on the tap!  BUT, NO!!
it did not!  Water experts here...finally after two days of off and on water,
hopefully, now it is fixed.  More adjustments to come!  Just making sure
it is all in working order first.  Will keep you up-dated on this as I live it!
