Crochetted Lacey Scarf

Working on this crochetted lacey scarf.
Trying to decide if I want to add some crochetted flowers to the ends?!
Used two strands of light weight yarn. One had a shiney thread in it
you can see a little glimmer. Guess I will think about the flowers before
adding them. Will see!

Happy New Year one and all! Peace and Blessings to the world.

Warm wishes, Nancy

2011 Christmas Day Gone

Christmas Day for 2011 has come and gone!  Phew!  It was like a tornado....whirled in and then out!
My family all gathered at my house for the day.  I am so blessed to have my family!  I love them all.
It was a great day...presents unwrapped, paper flying, good food, games, and finally rest!
I know this has been said many times, but we should keep Christmas in our heart year 'round!
What a wonderful world this would be!

Peace and Blessings to you all, and Happy New Year!
Pray for 2012!

Christmas Time is Here!

It's almost Christmas!  We have been preparing a long time for this.  Every year we celebrate on December 25th the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  We sometimes forget the real
reason for the season.  All the presents and parties and celebrations are traditions of the season.
We hang wreaths, holly and mistletoe and garlands and put up a tree with decorations and lights
all over it.  Some of us even get to experience a white Christmas!  Some of us can even spend
Christmas day on the beach or under a palm tree!  Whatever and however we celebrate it's still
His Birthday!  Let's pray for a world of peace with blessings for everyone over the earth.  Now
is a time for remembering all those service men who are keeping our country safe so that we can
celebrate and enjoy the season.  God Bless us all.  God Bless America!

Oh! Christmas Tree!

Bird Nest Decoration

One of my creations I made today!

I have a lot of clear glass dishes so decided to try to come up with a way to
use some as Christmas decorations. I had these nests with red birds in my stash
that I thought would be kinda cute on a bed of shredded paper! Tied the red ribbon
into a bow around the stem and voila! A little decoration to add to my display!
Trying to be inventive and use up some of the items that I have been hoarding!

Enjoy! Peace and Blessings for this joyous season!

Tape Measure Bracelets

Two bracelets I made recently.
The first was the yellow one I found at Michaels and the pink one came from Publix! Can you believe that?
I loved the color and decided to use only pink buttons on this one. I had a hard time finding the bar clasps.
These came from JoAnn's, as I never did find any at Michael's....my favorite store! Am not close to Hobby
Lobby, so don't know if they carry these. I used an eighth-inch hole punch for the holes, and 9-10mmrings
to attach the buttons. I tried to use a variety of buttons, but all one size and color would be good. This is
such a simple item to make and fun to wear!

Happy Saturday to all my lovely friends out in blog-land!
Peace and Blessings,
Nancy

Sharing

Dear Friends, I want to share with you this passage from the book, "Chasing the Horizon",
by authors Patrick and Thomas Kindade.  I think it is beautiful and worth sharing with friends and
family.

"Our lives on earth are precious beyond any material price.  Time should never be spent anyway but well.
I think it can also be said that there is no greater use for time than to spend it with the people you love and the people who love you.  These are the ones who will carry you with them beyond even your own limited existence and pass you to others beyond theirs.  And holding others in your heart, in turn, grants them their own earthly immortality.  Family and friends should be celebrated and cherished now when they are with you and while you are able, or that legacy will pass you by without ever having the chance to flourish.
Only God can guarantee tomorrow.
I don't want to waste a single day."

Have a great day and week end, three days for some of us, dear Friends.

Peace and Blessings,
Nancy

Dying the Tee Shirts!

Even young kiddos can do this with a little supervision.
This kiddo is just two and a half!

Peace and Blessings,
Nancy

Painting Fun Tee Shirts with Kiddos!!

Grammie making ty dye T shirts with the kiddos this am.
White T's in appropriate size.
Colorful permanent markers.
Plastic or paper cups, rubber bands and rubbing alcohol.
Rubber band the T over the top of the cup.
Use markers, make designs, dots, circles etc.
Drop alcohol with dropper onto the fabric which is still stretched over cup.
Watch the magic happen.
Leave over cup till the magic stops, a very short time.
Continue process until you have the amount of color on the T you like.
Let it set till dry, through in dryer for 15 mins to set and then it is washable.
Kids have so much fun making these...and creating their own designs.

Have fun!

Peace and Blessings, friends,
Nancy

Summer's Over...School Days! School Days!

Posted by Picasa

Ramblings...from an on again off again Blogger!

I am back again!  The summer is over and school is back in.  Don't know where the
summer went.  Time is so fleeting.  We can never get any of it back.  It flies it just
escapes, goes, etc.  My beach vacation was wonderful, but much to short.  I am a
water person, and being near any body of water makes me extremely happy.  Now that
school has entered another year, I just want to say thank you to all who are in
our education systems, no matter if your a teacher, a janitor or an office manager!
You do a terrific job helping our kids.  Best wishes and blessings for a great year.

Peace and Blessings, dear Friends,
Nancy

Thrift store goodies

Visited a few thrift stores while vacationing, and found a few goodies to share with you.
These will appear in my etsy shop soon!
That is a stack of four ashtrays!  I know smoking is no longer in vogue, but these were quite
pretty with the roses and all that gold.  There are no marks, but suspect Japan.  They would be a
great addition to a dresser or stand to hold bits of jewelry, coins etc.

The little shoe has no marks either and there is a little damage to the rose, but still very nice.
The gold is very shiny and pretty.

Have a great Wednesday!  It's my day off so am catching up!
Peace and Blessings, Friends!
