Crochet Hats

Here is a sample of the baby and children's hats that I crochet.
They will be for sale in my etsy shop. This one measures about 18" in circumfrence, and they do stretch a little. I can make these in your choice of colors just leave me a message and I will get back to you.

The trim on this is verigated with some eyelash yarn added. The fuzziness is really cute!

New for etsy shop

This little vintage "doggie shelf" is hand made. I found it in a thrift shop awhile ago! It will make it's way to my etsy. A little piece of the wood is missing behind his head and as you can see the shellac (varnish) has "beaded", which is a sign of age. Cute for a baby's room or for someone who loves doggies!

These are cute! Raggedy Ann and Andy. They are made of some type of plastic? The paint is still great. There are a few places that you would expect from age. On the back side of each of these is the date 1977. They are looking at each other with love in their eyes and a smile on their face. Great for the collector or for children's room.

Weekend and Noles!

YEAH!!! The Seminoles won their game on Saturday! They are doing better this year. Just hope they keep up the winning streak.
Shelby went to FSU this weekend and surprised her sister Sarah.
They all went to the game, the flying circus and High School 3. I'd say
that was a busy weekend.
I spent some time working on projects. Will post some pics here later.
I think we are going to have another swap! Am so glad! I really thought
my first went well and I liked it. I received some cute cards. Very creative.
I had to call the plumber on Saturday. Was glad I could get him to come
out tto my house. I didn't have any water Saturday afternoon! I just went
to wash my hands and no water came out of the faucet. It was a simple fix, but they will be back on Monday to put something new on the pump, and he said there was a leak somewhere in the pipe. Hopefully it won't be to
big a problem to fix.

ATC SWAP on Etsy Cottage Style

Here are two atc's I received from my partner in the swap. Gina made these two really cute, adorable, creative cards. Gina lives in Sweden and is an artist as you can tell from these cards. The cards are the same size as a card from a regular playing deck. The rest is up to the artist. I made my first two cards! It was so much fun making such a small piece of art. You can view the two cards I made..just click on MY FIRST ATC's.

New glasse!!!

I broke my glasses last night! Can you believe? I hunted down the SUPER GLUE! Have you ever tried to use Super Glue to put a pair of glasses back together? When there are two pieces that only fit at one small point? Especially when you have no glasses to help you see that fit? Let me tell you it's not easy. I ended up with super glue all over my fingers and the lense of the glasses. I got to the doctors office this morning hoping they could help me out. They found a frame that was a little smaller than my lenses...after waiting about an hour and a half, they bring me a pair of glasses! They had to grind down my lenses to fit this frame. No charge either. I think they deserve a vote as hero of the day! There is still some glue on one lense. She told me she used everything she could find to try and remove the glue. I guess it will eventually wear off.

Pink Angel Ornaments

Here are two pink angel ornaments I made this weekend. The angels are printed on cotton fabric then a layer of batting and a backing, all sewed together! Making a little pillow. The hanger is some ribbon or lace, with beads or buttons added. There's a piece of lace at the bottom with little pink seed beads attached. These would look so pretty on your Christmas tree, your wall or hanging on a door knob. They would also make nice gifts. These are in my etsy shop.

Christmas Angel Pillow Ornaments

A Christmas Angel pillow ornament or hanging. I printed the angel to some fabric, added poly and a backing then sewed it all together! The embellishments include ribbon, trim, beads and a small gold ribbon with two tiny bells. These can be used as a tree ornaments or wall hangings, or even hung over a door knob. There will be more of these for sale in my etsy store.

Bottlecap Bracelets

Bottlecap Bracelets

Am finally getting around to posting some of my bottlecap jewelry on my blog and thus to my etsy shop. My bracelets are strung glass beads of various colors with added bottlecaps. Each bottlecap has punched papers of a floral design I created. They are covered with a glaze for protection and longevity. A bead is added to each center for some more glitz! These are really pretty! I know it's hard to believe when you know they are bottlecaps! I used caps from different soda flavors and all are brightly colored. I do not use any beer or alcoholic beverage caps in my jewelry.
I am starting out with these two, and will add more as I get them made!

My First ATC's

These are my first ATC's, Artists Trading Cards, that I made for a swap.
Each person in the swap makes two cards. The size of the cards is the same as a card from a regular playing deck. The only instructions for these were, vintage, pink, and cottage, and were to be mailed by Oct. 15th. Mine are made from canvas used for acrylic paints. I cut them to the size, painted them pink and then did all the creating! I chose two different female pics that I had on hand and then embellished both of them. They are signed and numbered on the back. I also made a paper pocket using a copy of an old post card and some pink cardstock. I put the two cards in the pocket and packaged them for mailing, and sent them on their way. I hope she likes my first attempt at ATC's! I can't wait to get mine! Smiles.

Autumn

Here is a painting and collage I've been working on for etsy cottage style group. The word we were given was autumn. This is what I came up with! I have added some collaged leaves on the finished piece, and an old gold frame I had. This will get posted on the etsy site for Friday. Check it out! There will be many "autumn" pieces there.

Saturday

Happy Saturday to you all. It's a great day. Sun is shinning after a little rain shower this morning. I am doing the usual chores today...crafting in between! Waiting for paint and glue to dry before I finish up some projects. I am in on an ATC swap on etsy cottage style. ATC is artists trading card. These are the size of a card from a regular deck of cards. This swap is vintage/pink/cottage. Mine are definitely pink. They are to be in the mail by Oct 15, so I will put up pics then. I am excited to be in this..it is my first swap. Am also in on a Santa Scavanger! This will present a challenge. There are still so many things I don't know about how all the blogs etc. work. I am still reading trying to understand how this all works.
Got some help last week end from grandson (married to my granddaughter)..technically I guess he's my in-law?! He knows all about how computers work, as does just about everyone else, but me!!!! lol
I hope you all have a great weekend. Gotta get back to my fun stuff!

Hand painted roses

This clear glass tray and perfume bottle have been hand painted with pink roses by me. They are also painted on the back of the bottle and the stopper. They did not come as a set, but am selling them together. The pics aren't the greatest they don't do the painting justice. I am using an aim and shoot Kodak camera! So I take a lot of pics and hope for a couple good ones. Some day I'll be looking for a better camera! Yeaaaah!

Childrens Dresses mixed media

Happy Tuesday to all and thanks for looking at my blog!
Here's a small, 5x7, canvas board that I have altered with paints, gesso, papers, crackle, and buttons.
I drilled holes and attached a wire hanger that I wrapped with other wire and fiber plus beads.
Then added a bow! This would look so cute in a girls room or a sewing room.

The little girl is wearing a blue dress that I colored with pencils and she is wearing an orange hat. Two small squares contain description and prices of dresses of the time.

Weekend

Just a quick post tonight. Hope you all had a great weekend. I left work on Friday and went to spend a couple of days with my grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A fun time was had by all. No pics however! We had a cookout on Saturday evening. Seems like I always eat more than I should! Managed to get to BAM and found four new Somerset Studio mags. They are so inspiring and the artists in these are fabulous. They are the greatest. We had some much needed rain this afternoon. Things were starting to look a little "droopy".
